Hello Amelia,
Thank you for sharing information on how to care well for books. I am seeking advise on how to care for newly acquired books that smell of mildew? How can I determine if mildew is present, alive, conditions in which it is spreadable to other books, and how to treat.
I live in a climate that can be damp in the winter. The books in question are usually older children’s picture books, mostly with sentimental value.
Thank you for your time,
Donica
Welcome . . .
Men of mystery, women of intrigue, you who seek adventure even in the books you read. If you love the feel of strong bindings in your hands--first editions, leather bound boards, original illustrations, gilt and marble edges, and fanciful end papers--this is the place for you. So pour yourself a cup of tea, sit a spell, and let's talk books . . .
